This year, the University wishes to attract a doctoral student of high calibre as well as research expertise and qualification. The K.T Tan Doctoral scholarship at Australian National University is open to pursue PhD research at the JCSMR (John Curtin School of Medical Research). Qualified student will also have the opportunity to simultaneously develop their entrepreneurial skills for engagement with industry. This call is available to pursue research in Vision Sciences or related field.
The K.T Tan PhD scholarship will provide the future successful candidate with a stipend. The scholarship is worth $ 27,596 annually (for the 2019 value). The award will be paid on a fortnight basis and is tenable for three years. There will also be allowances for thesis reimbursement along with paid maternity, medical and paternity leave.
Overseas recipient will also be considered for a HDR Fee Remission Merit award. It will be tenable to cover the International Student Fees for the standard amount of time of the Higher Degree Research program. It will depend on whether or not the recipient is ranked as competitive in a merit-based selection process.
In order to be fully entitled to this call, interested applicants must:
- Be an overseas or domestic student
- Be enrolling as a full time PhD student in the area of AMD research and will be conducting their studies/research at the Australian National University’s John Curtin School of Medical Research
- Have obtained an Australian Bachelor Honours degree as well as research publications and/or related experience
