If you want to pursue your tertiary qualification in the United Kingdom, then you might want to consider applying for the International Ambassador scholarships at University of West London. This call aims to support outstanding students by financially assisting them to pay their financial obligations that come with applying to a University-level education. This program is open to both commencing bachelor and master’s students.
The history of University of West London can be traced back to 1860 when the Lady Byron School was established, which later on came to be known as Ealing College of Higher Education. This institution, together with Queen Charlotte’s College of Health Care Studies, Thames Valley College of Higher Education as well as the London College of Music merged in 1990 to form the Polytechnic of West London. Two years later, it turned out to be a university and was known as Thames Valley University. It was only in 2010 that the University was finally given permission to change its name to what’s known today. The University continuously ranks as the top and leading modern higher educational institution in London. It was ranked at number 8 for modern university in the United Kingdom and was placed at number 50 in national level by the Guardian University Guide as of 2019.
This year, the University is proud to announce the new International Ambassador Scholarship call. Each year, the International Ambassador scholarships at University of West London provide up to £ 5,000 to qualified students as a discount on their tuition fee (for their first year). Aside from the financial support, this scholarship can also be a great way to meet other students who are also in their first year of study. There up to 100 awards offered each year and all are spread across the University’s three intake periods; September, January and May.
- Applicants must be classified as overseas students (fee-paying students and self-funded). Kindly note that this is not meant for EU students
- Applicants must have obtained an offer from the University to study as a full time postgraduate or undergraduate student. In other words, it is compulsory for candidates to first apply for a course of study at West London prior to applying for the scholarship and they must have been offered a place as well
Kindly note that as the recipient, you will be expected to take an active part to represent (be a representative) the University. This can be done by showcasing the University to prospective international students. Furthermore, students may also be required to support events such as Open Days, take part in videos, interviews and photo shoots with the Marketing department.
This program will be awarded on a competitive basis. Applicants should demonstrate enthusiasm as well as the ability to be an outstanding international ambassador.
How and When to Apply
The closing dates for the International Ambassador scholarships at University of West London are as follows:
- June 30, 2019 for courses commencing in September 2019
- November 30, 2019 for courses commencing in January 2020
