Rotary Peace Fully-Funded Fellowships is a type of scholarship offered to academically excellent students from all over the world. The host institutions are located in different parts of the world, including Thailand, Sweden, Australia, UK, Japan, and USA. Foreign students who pass the screening stage are expected to obtain their professional certificate or Master degree by taking part in the study programs to improve and enhance their ability. The Scholarship Description
This Rotary Peace Fully-Funded Fellowships is dedicated to help international students pursue conflict prevention and resolution as well as promoting worldâ€™s peace in one of the peace centers all over the world that participate in the program. The centers are located in Thailand, Sweden, Australia, Japan, UK, and USA. The scholarship is generally awarded to 100 participants with a clear division that 50 scholarships are for certificate studies and the remaining 50 are for Master degree.
The host institutions are University of Queensland in Australia, Chulalongkorn University in Thailand (especially for the certificate program), University of North Carolina and Duke University in the USA, University of Bradford in England, Uppsala University in Sweden, and International Christian University in Japan. The study fields are related to conflict prevention and resolution and peace
The scholarship will cover fee and tuition, round-trip transportation, room and board, and the entire field study and internship expenses.
Applicants should understand that this Rotary Peace Fully-Funded Fellowships program isnâ€™t like the regular scholarship program that is based on academic merit only. Since the idea is about conflict prevention and peace improvement, candidates are expected to posses some qualities and traits that not everyone has.
Basically, the candidates should meet these requirements:
- The applicants must have strong and solid commitment to international peace and understanding that is demonstrated through academic and professional achievement (or through community and personal service)
- The applicants must have volunteer or full-time work experience for at least 5 years
- The applicants must possess good and impressive leadership skill and ability
- The applicants must be proficient and fluent in English. Any fluency in a second language is highly recommended
- The applicants must have a Bachelor degree with at least 3 years of related volunteer or full-time work experience
- The applicants must have a strong academic background with at least good performance
Applicants can take the eligibility test to know whether they meet the requirements. However, the result of the test doesnâ€™t show the real outcome or final achievement of the applicants.
How to Apply
Interested candidates are expected to submit their applications to their (each) respective Rotary District. The deadline is on May the 31st 2019. Then, each District should submit the endorsed applications to the Foundation before July the 1st 2019.
